Agh ugh! Okay it’s like this. You know I took a few days off the week before last? Well, it wasn’t long enough for me. There are various reasons and I’m going to go into them, cus well, I have nothing else good to talk about (and that’s a part of the problem).
For starters, I love my sponsors and I like to do them justice and for me, that means enthusiasm. At the moment, I’m just not feeling the whole blogging thing. I mean, I’m sure I know why, it’s the bloody lockdown. It’s got us all feeling dispirited and lethargic.
So yeah – Reason 1 for taking a holiday – I want to do my very best and I lost my mojo.
Secondly, you’ll recall I said I had a bad eye, well, it’s much improved and I’m delighted about that, although it did relapse last week. I have some new eye drops and they seem be working well but I’m trying to limit my PC time, cus close up computer work doesn’t seem to help. Of course, I have to do my RL work, cus it pays me money and I also am writing. I kept threatening to ‘actually write’ for myself, and I am doing, but when I contemplate an hour on the PC doing a blog, or one doing my project – I need to choose the project. I don’t want it to be neglected, disjointed or to sit there unfinished for much longer.
So Reason 2 – I need my limited time on the PC to be spent on RL, not on the blog.
Reason 3 is delicate. If I keep plugging away when my mind and heart are not in it, I won’t want to continue doing it at all. Yup, I need a holiday in the hopes I will want to come back to it. I can’t promise I will, but if I don’t, I will at least say so.
This blog has been running a very long time. 10 years in fact. I’ve shared so much of my Second Life and first life with you, the reader, and I’ve been thankful and honoured by each and every hit to my pages. You deserve the best from me, too.
I’ll probably take a fortnight and then come back and see how it feels, again. I hope I get my mojo working. In the meantime…
Stay alert, stay 6 feet apart. Go to work, don’t go to work unless you’re essential in which case take a bike, don’t go on the bus even though the bus is running, unless you’re a bus driver in which case bus to work, because you are essential. You can visit your relatives (but only singularly) in a public park, but not in their garden because not everybody has gardens and if they do, maybe they’re not big enough to be 6 feet apart.
Take a minute to feel sorry for those people without gardens or with gardens less than 6 feet long, but don’t visit them. Play sport with them, you can do as much exercise as you like, but not with your friends. Sunbathe, but use sunscreen.
Let’s finish with Baz Luhrmann who said it best.
What ARE you wearing?
Until it becomes clear what can and what can’t be linked to and from a Flickr picture without it being considered ‘commercial activity’ I will no longer be linking to stores, marketplace, or events. I shall instead link to the creator’s Flickr where available, so you can find what you need from them directly. I recommend using SeraphimSL to find event details and links.
